Catholic Mens Fellowship (CMF)
Welcome to the Men’s Fellowship Group at Assumption. Established in April, 2006, we are an open forum where guys talk about faith issues of interest to men. We explore ways to apply our faith in all aspects of our daily lives. Some of our members refer to this group as an oasis in the middle of our modern society where anyone can come and be refreshed. Men of all faiths and all ages are welcome. Our definition of BYOB is to Bring Your Own BELIEFS. We meet in the Rectory on the second and fourth Wednesdays each month. Visit our web page at https://sites.google.com/site/cmfassumptionchurch.

A group of volunteers who assists the priest/celebrant and the Engaged Couple at both Rehearsal and Wedding Mass/Service. There are always 2 coordinators for every wedding at Assumption. One of the coordinators contacts the Bride/Groom at least 6 weeks before the event to attain information for the event. (Ex: Time of Ceremony, Size of Bridal Party.)
For the rehearsal we do a walk through with all members of the bridal party, parents, and anyone else involved with the ceremony. During that time we also answer any questions either the bridal party or parents may need to know. On day of wedding, we have preparations to go through before arrival of bridal party. A parish Bridal Coordinator should be a person who likes organization, leadership, and a strong Catholic faith. Anyone interested in this ministry may contact:
The primary role of the Altar Server is to assist the Priest in the celebration of the liturgy. It is a great honor to serve at the Lord’s Table. All boys and girls in 4th grade and older are encouraged to participate as Altar Servers. If you would like to be an Altar Server, please call the parish office. 412 766 6660 or email@example.com.
Hospitality Ministers include those men and women who serve our Parish in the liturgical ministries of greeter and usher. They ensure that anyone who enters our Church for Mass will feel comfortable and welcome. In representing the rest of the assembly in offering hospitality, the hospitality minister greets the faithful as they enter the Church. Among other roles, he or she assists Parishioners to their seats, directs the communion procession in an orderly manner, and takes up the offerings of the people in the collection. The Hospitality Minister is also available to assist those with special needs. At the heart of our ministry is St. Paul’s instruction to the Romans to “welcome one another as Christ has welcomed you” (Rom 15:7). For more information, or to get involved, contact the rectory at 412-766-6660 and firstname.lastname@example.org.
The Lector serves the members of the liturgical assembly by proclaiming the texts of sacred scripture during the Liturgy of the Word at Mass and other liturgical celebrations. Through this proclamation, God speaks to the gathered community in a special way. The worthy exercise of this role enables the Church to hear the Word of God more clearly and receive it with more open hearts. Such regular public nourishment with the biblical Word helps to sustain the community and contributes to its ongoing conversion and mission.
Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion
Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion are privileged to share in the ministry of distributing the Body and Blood of Christ at Mass. Some Eucharistic Ministers bring the Eucharist to Life Care at Suburban General, to the various nursing homes in the area as well as to the members of our parish family who are shut-in. If you are interested in this ministry, please call the parish office or email@example.com.
The Respect Life Ministry promotes the sanctity of life from conception until death. It promotes the annual Life Chain, March for Life and 40 Days for Life. Every Mother’s Day weekend we have a collection for Genesis House. Keeping parishioners up to date on current life issues is done through emails. If you would like to receive updates on current issues or would like to join the Respect Life Ministry please contact the parish office 412 766 6660 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
