The Music of Holy Week
Come enjoy a free recital of organ music spanning the events of Holy Week, from the Passion to the Resurrection. Performed by Jonathan Hoyt, Kantor and organist at First Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church in Oakland.
The Passion and Resurrection of Christ have served as inspiration for countless chants, hymns, and musical works. This recital will present only a few of the hundreds of pieces of music based on the events of Holy Week.
Masks will be required at the recital and social distancing will be observed.

Jonathan Hoyt is currently working toward his Master of Sacred Music degree at Duquesne University, studying with Dr. Ann Labounsky. He has received a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry and a minor in music from Grove City College, beginning his study of the organ with Dr. Richard Konzen, and a Master of Arts in Religion from Trinity School for Ministry in Ambridge, PA. Jonathan has served as the Kantor at First Trinity Evangelical Lutheran since fall of 2018.
